This drug is used as a sedative to treat  tension or anxiety.  Atarax may also be used to control  vomiting or nausea.Hydroxyzine is also used together with other medications given for anesthesia.
This drug reduces activity in the central nervous system. It also acts as an antihistamine that reduces the natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of  hives on the skin, runny or sneezing nose. Hydroxyzine  is also used to treat allergic skin reactions: contact dermatitis or hives.

You don’t take Aterax if you are pregnant or if you are allergic to this drug  its components.  Before you take this drug, consult with your health care proffesional if you have a kidney disease, liver disease, seizure disorder .

The side effects of Atarax may impair your reactions or thinking. You shouldn’t drink alcohol. Be careful if do anything that requires you to be alert and awake or if you drive a car.

Call your doctor and stop using this drug at once if you have : seizures,confusion,tremors,   or restless muscle movements in your jaw,eyes,neck, tongue

If you want to take Atarax,call your doctor, and  tell him , if you use other drugs:

-sedatives,

- allergy medicine,

-narcotic pain medicine,

-muscle relaxers, and

-sleeping pills,

-medicine for depression,seizures  or anxiety.

This drugs can add to sleepiness caused by Atarax.  You shouldn’t to start new drugs without consult with your health care professional.

Take this drug(Atarax) , how  prescribed  and recomended by your pharmacist or doctor. You shouldn’t take this drug for longer or in larger amounts   than recommended.

You should to  follow the all directions on  prescription label.  You should take Atarax with  water (full glass).

We recomend to store this drug  at room temperature away from heat and moisture.

Measure liquid drug with a special dose-measuring cup or spoon , you shouldn’t take a  table spoon.  If you haven’t got a special spoon or cap go to your pharmacist and tell him.

Atarax may provoke serious side effects, such as:

• uncontrolled shaking;

• restless muscle movements in your tongue,eyes,neck or jaw;

• convulsions; or

• confusion.

Less serious  side effects :

•dry mouth;

• dizziness;

• drowsiness;

• blurred vision,  or

• headache.

Don’t  use Atarax if you are pregnant or if you are allergic to hydroxyzine. You may have certain conditions, which may provoke problems with your health, because if you have the next condition , consult with doctor:

• glaucoma;

• epilepsy ;

• breathing problem: emphysema,asthma,  or other ;

• blockage in your intestines or stomach ;

• high blood pressure;

• heart disease ; or

• kidney disease;

• stomach ulcer;

• thyroid disorder;

• liver disease; or

• problems with urination or enlarged prostate.
